Friends of Kids with Cancer
2006 "Walk with a Friend"On April 22nd, Friends of Kids with Cancer held their 5th Annual "Walk with a Friend" at West Port Plaza. Returning as Honorary Co-Chairs for the 5K run and family fun walk were Dan and Libby McLaughlin. Over 400 people came out to run, walk, participate in the games put on by Toys R Us, see the Oscar Meyer Wiener Mobile and meet Bearemy. Thanks to GOLUB, all of our sponsors, and all the participants, over $18,000 was raised for our programs that help some special kids cope with their daily struggles battling cancer. A special thank you to our walk committee and all of our volunteers for all their hard work helping us prepare for the event.
