Golden Thread Book Club

Friends of Kids with Cancer has established The Golden Thread Book Club in honor of the late Barbara Goldenhersch, PhD, to celebrate her passion for teaching and her belief that books bring joy, wonder, and enrichment to children and adults alike. This special club will provide a small library of books at the treatment centers for the patients and their siblings to choose and take home. Barbara believed that books bind the heart of a child with a golden thread one page at a time. She loved to share books with everyone she met, particularly children; and she had her own collection of two to three thousand books.

Special thanks to Barbara's husband, Richard, and two of her close friends, Diann Bank and Eleanor Rosenbaum, for coordinating this club and fulfilling Barbara's lifelong dream of "Sharing the Wonders of Life Through Books."
