Friends of Kids with Cancer brings joy to families throughout their pediatric cancer journey with thoughtful gifts, snacks, meals, celebrations, and engaging activities to help children stay busy and uplifted while in the hospital.
As part of daily care, hospitals change each child’s bedding with sterilized linens to ensure cleanliness and safety. To add an extra layer of comfort and cheer, Friends of Kids with Cancer is proud to introduce the Sweet Dreams program, a new initiative that provides fun, friendly pillowcases to pediatric patients during turndown service each day.
The Sweet Dreams program helps transform sterile hospital rooms into spaces that feel more like a child’s own bedroom. Featuring beloved characters, vibrant colors, and cozy fabrics, these pillowcases help create a warm, emotionally supportive environment while maintaining necessary medical hygiene standards.
Friends of Kids with Cancer offers pillowcases in a variety of designs, including popular characters from children’s television shows and movies, as well as options tailored for boys and girls. Satin pillowcases are also available for the comfort of patients who may have loss of hair and tenderness from treatment.
“When my son was hospitalized, all he wanted to do was go home. These pillowcases make it feel like home. My son got excited picking out a pillowcase that was soft and colorful and something he got to choose.
“Afterwards, we kept all the pillowcases, which marked just how long he was there—28 days. It may seem small, but the pillowcases turned out to mean so much in the day-to-day. I still have the pillowcases, and I want to make a quilt out of them.” —Patient Mom
Friends of Kids with Cancer welcomes donations of new, unused pillowcases in their original packaging. To support the Sweet Dreams program, you can purchase items directly from the Sweet Dreams wish list on Amazon or make a donation.
