Munchie Meals Volunteering

Friends of Kids with Cancer’s Munchie Meals program provides an entire meal for every patient in the hospital cancer treatment floor that day. Once a week, a volunteer delivers meals for lunch at one of three treatment centers. The food itself varies from sandwiches to pizza but is always a hit with patients.

It may seem small, but Munchie Meals mean a lot to families because they can count on a great free meal during a very busy day in treatment — one less thing to worry about and one more thing to look forward to.

HOW IT WORKS

Commit to arranging meals for 1 hospital treatment center a week during the lunch hour, at a minimum of 1 per month.

1. Call your assigned hospital treatment center

Call the treatment center one to two days in advance and ask how many patients are scheduled on your delivery day. Add 5 meals to this count for late additions.

2. Place your food order for pick-up or Delivery

Place a food order for pick-up between 10:30-11:00 a.m. or delivery for 11:30 a.m.

Pay for the order and get reimbursed or arrange payment with our coordinator.

Ask the restaurant to include napkins, utensils, and condiments.

Desserts are appreciated but not required.

3. Pick Up & Deliver or Confirm Delivery

Deliver food to the treatment center or ensure delivery was made.

4. Submit Your Form

Complete an expense report form to be reimbursed for any purchases you made. Include receipts within 30 days.

Complete a donation form for any purchases you wish to donate.

Both forms are included in
our packet.

Email your form and get reimbursed by check within one to two weeks.
