INTERNSHIP OPENINGS
Spring or Summer Marketing Internship
Description
The intern will gain valuable experience in the various responsibilities of a marketing and communications professional, including print, digital, and social media marketing, graphic design, photography and videography, writing articles, press releases, and event recaps, and production of print and digital media including advertisements, flyers, videos, and more.
Applicant Requirements
Accepted applicants must be a college student working towards a degree, or a recent graduate. Preferred applicants are studying or recently graduated from programs focused on public relations, marketing, communications, journalism, graphic design, advertising, or related field.
Familiarity with design software or resources such as Adobe programs or Canva is preferred, but not required.
This is an unpaid internship. Applicants are encouraged to seek funding resources from their schools through grants, scholarships, work-study, or to seek credit hours.
Internship Responsibilities
Interns are expected to have an openness to learning and an eager attitude toward performing their tasks. Friends of Kids with Cancer does not expect interns to be proficient at the following responsibilities and will work with the intern to learn or enhance these skills. Responsibilities will be tailored to the intern, if possible, and based on current needs of the organization.

About Us
Friends of Kids with Cancer is devoted to enriching the daily lives of children undergoing treatment for, and survivors of, cancer and blood-related diseases. Our mission is to be an advocate for these special kids and provide them and their families with the Educational, Emotional and Recreational support needed as a result of the long hours of chemotherapy, illness and isolation.
The Supervisor
This internship supervisor is Angela Hutchings, Marketing & Communications Specialist. Angela has been with Friends since 2021 and has a background in nonprofit project management, graphic design, and art directing for an advertising agency. She works closely with the intern to teach or enhance skills in the various areas described above while also meeting the needs of the organization.
