Family Night at The Magic House
The Young Friends of Kids with Cancer hosted a fun family night at the Magic House on Thursday, June 23. Kids ran around and enjoyed an evening with other kids just like them. For one night, these kids forgot about their treatment and parents relaxed in a comforting environment where they could openly talk about their experiences with parents going through the same journey.
Each June the Young Friends rent out the Magic House at no cost to the families and offer dinner, ice cream, a balloon artist, face painting, give-a-ways and more family fun!
"Dottie and I had an amazing time at the family party at The Magic House! We had pineapple ice cream, spider-man balloon art and explored every corner of The Magic House. Dottie was able to feel like a kid again; in an environment where looking a little different is normal. Thanks, Friends!" said Matt Coriell, father of three-year-old Dottie who was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer in May.
Back to School Night at The Magic House
Over 400 patients, siblings and parents attended the Back to School party on Sunday, July 31 at the Magic House. Friends distributed backpacks filled with school supplies and Wal-Mart gift cards to help ease the financial burden on families purchasing school supplies, often for several children.
Check out all of these smiles!
